AboutThat's Amore is a literary-oriented TCG including decks related to books and authors. As the TCG grows, so will the variety of themes in the card decks. I've attempted to make this TCG different from other TCGs by ways of games and activities, methods of gaining cards, and so on. I hope it is an interesting experience to everyone who joins! What's an online TCG?A TCG is a trading card game: you collect a certain set of cards (or sets of cards) and trade your unwanted cards for the benefit of others' collections. Online TCGs are better than fourth grade because you can earn cards by playing games and interacting, not to mention the little rectangle cards are totally addictive and cute. There are multiple subjects for these online trading card games; you need only do some link-clicking to find what you like best! How to JoinThe basic requirements for joining this TCG include a valid email address, a website to display your cards on, and the ability to read and follow rules. If you can do these three things, there's no reason why you can't join now! Find the rules page and you'll find your beginning on this TCG.Once I receive your form, I will put you on the "pending members" list and send your starter pack. After you've put your starter pack on your trade page, email me so I can move you to the "active members" list. Then you may begin playing games and earning cards like everyone else! (Note that if you do not receive the starter pack within two weeks, I probably never got your join form.) Your starter pack includes the following: - 2 random regular (worth 1) cards from the deck of your choice All starter packs amount to a card worth of 9. Trade PostYour trade post is required to have the following things:- Valid email address or form for trading TradingSince this is a trading card game, it's expected that you trade (though if you wanted to be anti-social you could theoretically collect all your sets just by participating in games and such - though it would take much longer!). You must keep a trading log on your website. This can be included with your event log or separate from it - it's up to you - but in this log you must include which cards you traded and with whom, as well as the day the trade occurred. For example:June 11: Traded my Gobletoffire01 for Sally's Davinci02. These are all acceptable ways to note a trade. There are other acceptable ways as well, of course, just remember to include the cards involved, the date, and the other person's name. When you trade, you must remove the given card from your card page and add the received card. What's with the values? Card values (or worth) are determined by card type. All regular cards are worth 1, and special cards are usually worth 2. You must trade using the worth system. For example, trading two cards worth 1 for one card worth 2 is acceptable, but trading one card worth 1 for one card worth 2 is not. Trading Etiquette. All trade posts are required to either have an active email address or a trading form that sends to an active email address. Find that address/form, and fill it out with your request. Be as polite as possible! It is also courteous to go through the person's collecting/keeping page to see what you have to offer - some people don't like emails that say something like "I am interested in your Gobletoffire01, please visit my page to see what you like." You are trading to benefit you both, not to waste someone else's time going through your page because you were too lazy to go through theirs! If you find you don't have a card they like, note it in the request - some people are more likely to trade for a card they don't need if they know you went through and looked (for example, "I went through your trade post and I don't seem to have any cards you're looking for, but I am very interested in trading for your Gobletoffire01! Are there any cards for future collections perhaps that you would like to trade for? If not, I understand. Thanks!"). Make sure you note in the subject line or within the email which TCG you're trading for (this one is called That's Amore), as some people are member to multiple TCGs and some cards may have the same or similar names. How do I decline a trade? If you really are not interested in trading for any cards, a courtesy reply would be polite. Simply say, "I'm not interested in any of your cards at this time, but I will check your page in the future and see if there's anything I need. Sorry!" or something similar. It's straight to the point without being rude, and you don't have to trade. Send the email in a timely manner. I don't recommend completely ignoring the trade request, because sometimes people are waiting on this one trade to master a set and may miss other opportunities to get the card just waiting for your response! On that token, if you receive a trade decline email, don't be upset or rude about it - no one is required to trade with anyone else! LevelsEvery TCG has levels; however, every TCG's level values are different, so it is important to review the values for each of your joined TCGs before requesting a level-up. Levels are determined by your card worth. Your card number is the physical amount of cards you have; your card worth is attained by adding up the values of each card. For example, regular cards are worth 1 and special cards are worth 2. Say you have four regular cards and one special card worth 2. Your card number would be 5; your card worth would be 6.The level system on this TCG is as follows:
The level badges are used to promote the TCG and to have a graphical display of your current level. Be proud of where you are! Earning CardsThere are quite a few ways to earn cards!Joining. You can earn at least 10 cards just by joining, and you haven't even started playing games yet! Games. Every game has a certain amount of cards as prizes - some choice, but most random. Some games only give currency as prizes; however, all games give something! Donations. You may contribute to the TCG by donating badges, buttons, or suggestions. Each donation area has its own rules for rewards, so visit the donations page for details. Trading. As explained above, trading is a great way to earn cards. Mastering. For collecting all the cards in a deck, you deserve a prize! Make a post in the mastered set part of the forum, and you will receive the following:
Levelling-Up. When you level-up, you automatically receive a reward!
Birthday. During your birth-month you'll receive a special surprise! You have to submit your birthday to get it, though. Referring Others. If someone joins the TCG and mentions your name, you receive a prize. 1 random card for every referral! For every 5 referrals, you will get one choice card. Updates. Check the updates page regularly. I'll post about affiliates, game updates, and so on, but I'll also occassionally give away freebies! Forum. On occassion, the forum will offer freebies. You must be a registered member on the forum in order to claim those prizes! Buying Cards. A used bookstore has been set up so that you can trade books for the cards you'd like. In order to do this, however, you'll need some books (currency). The currency pieces look like this: ![]() Each is worth how much the number (and filename) says. What you would like to purchase depends on how much it costs. Visit the store front to find out how much things cost! ForumEveryone is required to join the forum associated with this TCG. You cannot receive prizes for mastering or levelling up without joining. There will also be occassional forum freebies, and to claim these you will need to reply to posts. In addition to these functions, the forum also serves as a method to post donations and receive prizes for those. Please register with the same name you use on this TCG.I know it's a little bit of a hassle, but it is much less work for me. Again, theoretically, you could collect all your cards just by playing games, but you won't get rewards for levelling up or mastering unless you join the forum. You are not required to participate in any forum activities (including posting your wishlist, introduction, contests, discussion, etc). ScheduleI will try my best to stick to a consistent schedule. If for any reason I can't, I will update with a reason.GamesGroup Games. All games will be updated at least once a month. I will try to update more than that if I find I have the time. Group 1 games are more likely to be updated more often than any of the others, but you never know!Special. Occassionally there will be holiday games or games associated with other special occassions. These games will remain on the website for roughly one month, then will be removed. Card DecksI will try to add at least three card decks per month, but expect more.FormsI will try to answer forms as they come, but hopefully I will get through any piled up forms on Fridays if necessary. I will note on the updates page when all forms have been answered and my inbox is empty. If you see this message and had not received an email, you must resubmit the form - chances are, I didn't get it! |
